Occupational health programs may also conduct blood lead testing for workers in industries where lead exposure is a concern, such as construction, battery manufacturing, or recycling.

Blood lead testing is crucial for identifying individuals with elevated lead levels so that appropriate interventions can be implemented to reduce exposure and mitigate health risks. This may include environmental remediation, dietary changes, and medical treatment in severe cases.
