• Positive IgG, positive IgM: Suggests a recent HSV infection, although interpretation can be complex and may require further testing.
• Negative IgG, positive IgM: Can indicate a recent infection, but false-positive results are possible, so confirmation with additional testing may be necessary.
• Negative IgG, negative IgM: Suggests no current or past HSV infection.
